Daniel Barwick
Teacher, player, musician
Dan has been a member of the band for over 15 years, originally as a pan player, but now as our new Band Leader. Throughout this time, he has participated in and performed at countless events, including carnivals, weddings, 1000 Pans, Trafalgar Square, the NBPA Gala, and even joined Ebony Steelband for Panorama, among many other experiences. With his wealth of pan experience, Dan is now passing on his passion and knowledge to the next generation.
In addition to Harlow Steelband, he also teaches steel pans at local schools and has established himself as a talented musician in his own right, even featuring steel pans in his new songs!
Guest Artist - Samuel Dubois
Musician, pannist, teacher
After stepping down as Band Leader, a role he held for 20 years, Sam will occasionally visit Harlow Steelband and teach special classes to the band members, or lead at gigs when a drummer is required. Samuel DuBois is a professional musician currently teaching, gigging, touring and busking, dedicating his life to steelpan music. He has gained titles such as ‘the British Association of Steelbands Soloist of the Year’ and plays with Ebony Steelband (one of Europe’s leading steelbands).
He is currently working on his first debut album.
